One problem I see is that there is little financial profit in doing something about the problem. Many are willing to come up with ideas but few are willing to invest to make the ideas a reaity.
An observation I just made, having watched a documentry recently about how we are going to have to change our lifestyle and farming habbits due to a non infinite source of oil, is that our use of oil is a major cause of the climate problem.
So if global warming is a problem & eco experts are predicting that we need to reduce our carbon emissions to prevent servere damage to our planet in 2-3 decades time
AND
if there isn't an infinite source of oil & experts are predicting that we will encounter major shortages within 2-3 decades then by default the problem is going to solve itself. What we need to do is make sure we are ready for the culture shock that follows.
All we need to do is make sure we are able to live a less oil dependant lifestyle. If we can do that now then we will have a much greater advantage when the time comes.
But all that said, and with all the daily evidence before us we are still reluctant to change because we don't know for sure, we can't see the future, and we are comfortable where we are.
Maybe one day climate change & global warming will be terms of the past and the in phrase will be culture/lifestyle change & global reforming.
